My Thoughts .. VControl from 14SG
Got my radio, nice quality, comparable to a 14SG. The display is very bright and the speaker is loud and crisp. Every bolt in this thing is a standard metric hex (Thanks Mikado!). The software is cool, there are apps! For example, a nitro gov app. All the apps are free, you can install them from the Mikado website. As expected, this is a VBar radio, everything is very much VBar centric. If you are a VBar user, you will feel right at home. The upgrade from 5.3 to 6 is free and you do it the same as any other vbar upgrade, but once you do that the vbar desktop software can't be used, you must use the transmitter which isn't lacking in any features, it has quite a bit more than 5.3. I opened it up and it has a Gens Ace 1S pack, sweet. The gimbals are smooth and nice quality but it comes with the planker ratchet thing, you have to remove it, easy, took about a minute. It's a bit wider than the 14SG and very comfortable. The switches are interesting, the back left switch is 3 position but position 2-3 is spring loaded (different). Looks like SwitchGlo is a no brainer, you just fire up the Aux channel App (there are 80 channels) and do your thing (super easy to get it working, thanks Mikdado!). Overall I'm very impressed. It's really intuitive and lots of great features. Mikado did a fantastic job. The radio has preset files for all Mikado helis, everything else is treated as "Other" but being familiar with VBar I didn't have any problem setting up my Synergy N7, it took me about 45 minutes, the radio made it very easy and didn't get in my way. The nitro governor functions are easy to use and what you would expect. Some things I don't like: * Can't take the lipo out to charge with my charger without taking the case apart, so you pretty much have to use the included brick. * Can't really reassign the switches like I want but got really close to what I'm used to. This is version 1 so I expect more flexibility in future updates. Things I have to get used to: * There is no idle-up 1, 2, or Hold per-se, it's all banks ... different ... but a LOT more flexibility with your setups * Hold is called "Auto" * Had to assign throttle-cut to the back left switch * No way to tweak throttle-cut position, it goes further than what you set as 0 throttle in the endpoints, this must be a bug (it binds the servo a bit) For a first radio and version 1 of the software Mikado knocked it out of the park.

The radio it's self is the best radio ever!! The problem is the manuals SUCK. They are not user friendly and not complete !! It needs a complete index with ALL functions and how to get too them and operate them!! This radio is the wave of the future and way ahead of the of anything on the market, now they need too make manuals useable too the average pilot, not the setup genus!!!

Vbar Control radio
Bad A$$. The display is beyond description. Other radio manufactures really needs to pay attention. The auto sensor on the display in bright sun works perfectly. The menus are simple and the setup is straight forward. I am still learning with the programming but I have had no problems to speak of with getting my first model in the air. I have also added the sensor for measuring voltage, current and watts and it works flawlessly. I am extremely pleased with the radio and look forward to further features of the radio.

I have to say that coming from a futaba 14sg to the vcontrol was the best choice I have made to date as far as r/c goes. Flying only vbar on 6 helis after trying out microbeast then Ikon, I selected Vbar as my final choice. The vcontrol was the next logical step. The radio feels great in the hands, smooth sticks and is to easy to navigate through the menus. And to top it all off no more laptop needed at the field. They keep adding features to the radio via regular updates. To put that into perspective futaba hasn't had an updates on the 14sg since May 2014. I love the volume of the radio you can actually hear it. The telemetry is unbelievable. I and using the Mah sensor in lew of the timer. What are you waiting for?

The next step!
No question this radio is the wave of the future. I was skeptical when it first came out but it really was a case of I didn't know what I didn't know. Simple and yet amazingly powerful at the same time. Not having to bring my laptop to the field to tune is a HUGE bonus and with VBar's constant push of new apps available I feel the radio will grow along with my needs.
